Information for Injured Workers
After sustaining a workplace injury you should tell your employer, tell your doctor, and tell WCB.
Injured workers may have entitlements such as wage replacement, coverage of medical expenses, and access to vocational services.
There may also be other benefits and services available to you that are not considered by WCB.
WCB is responsible for advising you of the entitlements, benefits, and services applicable to your case. WCB must provide all decisions in writing and you must ensure that you keep these letters.
If you have a previous injury that has impacted your earnings ability and/or has resulted in loss of function you may be entitled to benefits.
If you disagree with the decisions or believe that you have not received what you may be entitled to, you must appeal within a year from the date of the written decision. If you fail to appeal within this time limit you may not only lose your right to appeal this decision, you may be refused future entitlement. If your claim is past the year deadline you should still seek advice as there may be help available to you.
If you are confused with the WCB language and their claims processes seek immediate clarification from the WCB.
If you cannot resolve your issues with WCB in a fair and just manner or believe that there are issues outstanding on your claim contact Cumming Consulting Inc. We will deal with WCB on your behalf and address all relevant issues with our expertise.
