Information for Medical Professionals
The WCB will not always agree with your diagnosis,
treatment plans, or recommendations for your patient- the injured
worker. Call the medical advisor to try and resolve your concern or
difference of opinion. If there is still a discrepancy we encourage you
to request a medical panel through the WCB and further consultations to
address your concerns.
Please refer to the Worker's Compensation Act subsection 46.1 and 46.2 for your rights as a medical professional in requesting medical panels.
WCB is of the opinion that pain can not be measured so please advise on your report if pain is impacting their recovery and function. Pain can be disabling and this needs to be recognized as a barrier to employment and healing. Please ensure that you have completed the WCB forms appropriately because your answers contribute to dictating the worker's work restrictions and ultimately in finding the worker fit for work.
The following is an outline to assist you with your reporting to WCB:
Call us directly at (780) 470 3999 if you have any questions. If you have any clients that you believe require or would benefit from our services please refer them to us for a free initial consultation and to discuss our services further.
