10th Annual Alberta Health & Safety Conference and Trade Fair
BMO Centre, Stampede Park - Calgary
October 24 to 26, 2011
This year’s conference theme is 10 YEARS AND BUILDING. Building on the previous successes in industry, new technologies, economic factors, the changing face of the workforce and changes to the environment create new health and safety challenges. Employers must continously be striving to meet and overcome these new challenges and ensure that workers have a safe and healthy workplace now and in the future.
Representatives from Cumming Consulting will be present at this event and stay tuned for updates from the conference and our thoughts.

On Air with Alberta Primetime
On Tuesday September 13, 2011 at 7:00 pm Cumming Consulting will be featured alongside MLA Rachel Notley and Minister of Employment and Immigration Thomas Lukaszuk to discuss concerns with the Alberta WCB and what can be done to improve the system. We encourage you to watch the episode, however if you are unable to tune in you can also watch it online after the fact. There is also a question regarding the Alberta WCB posted on Primetime's website that you can comment on. By working together to get our voice heard we can make positive changes to the Alberta WCB.
National Day of Mourning (also known as Worker's Memorial Day)

Let us all recognize this day in commemorating workers whose lives have been lost or injured in the workplace. From 1993 to 2009, 15,129 people died due to work-related causes. The National Day of Mourning, held annually on April 28, was officially recognized by the federal government in 1991, eight years after the day of remembrance was launched by the Canadian Labour Congress.
